5 Years of Alligators, Monsters, & Mustaches
It’s hard to believe, but My Father Wrestles Alligators will turn five this September.
Five years ago, boxes of freshly printed books landed on my doorstep, each one packed with wild lies, wrestling moves, and weird little monsters—just the way my brothers told it. What started as a collection of bedtime legends turned into a real, physical thing that people actually bought, read, and shared. That’s still surreal to me.
This book was always more than just a project. It was a way to celebrate growing up in a loud house with five older brothers who made it their job to keep me guessing—and occasionally terrified. It’s also been a way to show other kids (and grownups) how much fun storytelling can be when your imagination runs wild.
So thank you. If you backed the Kickstarter, bought a copy, read it to your kids, or just smiled at the idea of a mustached dad wrestling swamp creatures—thank you. It means everything.
Stay tuned for fun way to celebrate this September!
